"The young daughter of Forest Mother Aewynn and a human woodsman, Deru was taken by her mother to the forests of Peltas to train and harness her natural powers as a druid. A young novice in the Verdant Grove, Deru has never known her father or the world outside the forests of Peltas. Under the tutelage of Master Druid Falzin Grandri (an honored dwarf who earned his place amongst the elves of Peltas), Deru is eager to prove herself worthy of her mother's name and her heritage as she seeks to learn and learn quickly despite her young age. She may yet prove herself as a druid, and as the child of a powerful demigod, she holds within her great potential."
